About Micro-Credentials

EXPLR micro-credentials are short, focused learning programs that give you skills you can actually use—in school, in college, and in your first jobs. When you complete a credential, you earn a verified digital badge through Credly that can be added to your college applications, LinkedIn, or resume.

Why They Matter

Colleges and employers are looking for more than grades. They want proof you can think, create, and solve problems. Micro-credentials give you that proof. They show you’ve built real skills and are ready for what’s next.

Three Levels of Growth
  • Foundations: Intro-level badges that help you build core skills—like communication, critical thinking, or technical basics.
  • Applied: Take the next step by applying those skills in real-world or industry projects.
  • Advanced: Show what you can do with a capstone, portfolio, or even employer feedback.

You can start small and keep building—each level gets you closer to college and career readiness.

Built with Industry

Every EXPLR credential is designed with industry partners so it matches the skills employers actually need. Our first badges were co-developed with GM, Qualcomm, and The News Movement. That means your work connects directly to real careers.

Access & Cost

Some badges are free thanks to corporate partners. Others cost a small fee to help us keep programs running and accessible. In every case, the goal is the same: open doors to learning that leads to opportunity.

Future Ready Skills

All of our micro-credentials are built on EXPLR’s Future Ready Skills Framework. This framework focuses on transferable skills—like problem-solving, creativity, and digital literacy—that will carry you from high school to college to your first career.
